COLLECTION 2

To develop a range of Dupattas using paper Jamdani technique and exploring different yarns. Keeping in mind the design language of the brand, yet giving a fresh and contemporary look by taking inspiration from ragamala paintings.

The first phase of design for the weaves included sketching motifs for six different seasons by taking elements from the seasons of ragamala paintings(ritu ragas) to study the form and stylization of motifs in different layouts to weave on khadi jamdani.

SYNTHESIS

Visual dictionary for seasons in India.
Repetition, symmetry and illusion of depth with similar yet variety in layouts and composition.
Colour : Natural color of khadi on background to emphasize the material and colors respective of the season on the design elements.
Final concepts include different patterned bordered and buta compositions with motifs in the actual size of the motifs in the dupatta. (SCALE - 1:1)
Smell the fragrance of the flowers blooming around, bees buzzing around, warm sunshine lifting up spirits, ragas of vasant.

Adhering to the tradition of visual vocabulary of ragas, the entire colors transform into endless heap of fire.
The land is green and lotus is in bloom. Clouds filled with rain, peacocks and cows know no bounds and enjoying the atmosphere in joyful union. The environment created here with similes of love seasons.
Sharat is indeed the blossoming woman with goddess energy who is destined to nourish and nurture all who touch her fecund soul. It is the season of flowers and leaves which changes colors. It is a joyful time full of playfulness.
The weather is just favorable to enhance the spirit of festivities by illuminating the victory of good over evil, delivering from darkness and leading towards light.
The transitory season of winter days of cool comfort gladdening the hearts with Malkauns Raga sung in the chill and silent nights of winter in the palace landscape.
